The purpose of a campfire in Minecraft is multifaceted. It can be used as a not-just-a-decorative item that lights up the area around you and even helps imitate real-world fire with a trail of smoke, making it more realistic. A light stick cannot be broken down in one go. However, it can light up an environment around your base and is therefore best used there.
One of the most versatile items on a Minecraft map, campfires are capable of not only lighting up an area but can also be used to melt those snow blocks when you find yourself in a snowy biome. Not only that, but they’re useful for cooking raw food as well! If you right click on the fire, up to four raw food items will be displayed around it. After 30 seconds they become cooked and are ready for collection.
Campfires can act as signals guiding you to your home base if there is a trail of smoke, and can be used for farming honey without the threat of encountering bees.
- To make a campfire, you will need:
- 3 wooden sticks
- 1 coal or 1 charcoal
- 3 logs of any wood or 3 wooden blocks
Sticks are important items in Minecraft, as they can be used to build several other things in the game. Crafting table – 4 sticks will be produced at a time. Here’s how to craft your own crafting table.
It is relatively straightforward to locate coal ore, as it is typically found in large deposits. You will normally find coal between 4-15 blocks deep below level ground. To mine for the coal, use a pickaxe – any other tool won’t do the trick.
There are a number of different types of logs that you can get. These include oak, birch, spruce, dark oak, acacia and jungle logs. The method for getting these is the same in principle; just identify a tree to chop down with your axe or any other means to do so but sacrificing speed accordingly. Left-click on a section of the log and keep holding, depending on which level your tool is set to. This will split out smaller sections of the wood from your selection. Pick up these pieces; you’ve got all you need to make a campfire now!
